1. Agreement Overview
This agreement outlines the terms of therapy between Eugenie Young (The Counsellor) and you (The Client). It is designed to ensure safety, clarity, and mutual understanding in our work together. This document may be revised by mutual consent throughout therapy.

🔄 Session Commitments
Therapist Responsibilities:
Provide 50-minute sessions at an agreed time
Offer a private, quiet, and confidential space
Maintain safe and professional boundaries
Work within the BACP Ethical Framework
Inform clients of cancellations as soon as possible
Offer therapeutic interventions suited to your needs (e.g. person-centred therapy, CBT, psychoeducation, mindfulness)
Client Responsibilities:
Be available at the agreed time
Pay for sessions 48 hours in advance
Cancel with at least 24 hours’ notice to avoid charges
Communicate openly about your needs or concerns within the therapeutic space

Sessions must be paid at least 48 hours in advance
Appointments not paid in time will be cancelled
Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice are charged in full

🧠 What I Offer
I offer person-centred counselling, drawing on other methods such as:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Mindfulness and relaxation techniques
Psychoeducation and self-awareness tools
Together, we’ll explore your concerns at your pace, with honesty, respect, and care.
🧩 Therapeutic Relationship
The therapeutic relationship is professional and confidential. To maintain its integrity:
We won’t engage outside the therapeutic context
I may acknowledge you in public, but won’t initiate conversation
You may end therapy at any time with 24 hours’ notice
You are welcome to rearrange appointments via phone, email, or text
🔐 Confidentiality
All session content is confidential, except in cases where:
There is a risk of harm to you or others
A court or legal body requires disclosure
There is mention of terrorism, money laundering, or drug trafficking
There is suspected harm to children or vulnerable adults
These exceptions are guided by legal and ethical obligations.
🧭 Supervision
I attend professional supervision to maintain best practice. Identifying details are never shared. My supervisor is also bound by strict confidentiality and ethical standards.
🗃️ Data Protection & GDPR (2018)
You have the right to:
View or request copies of your therapy notes
Correct or update your personal information
Request deletion of your records (unless legally required to retain them)
Data is stored securely on a password-protected device or in a locked file.
Retention period:
Adults: 7 years from the end of therapy
Under 18s: Until the child turns 25
